JOB DESCRIPTION
The Manufacturing Engineer Intern is responsible for supporting and executing projects related to New Product and Process Development, cost reduction initiatives, improvements in Safety and Quality, facility upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage small scale projects according to strategic company initiates. This includes, but is not limited to planning, execution, monitoring and project close out.
Participate in new product / process launches. Work to Project Schedule, develop countermeasure plans when targets are not met and escalate when appropriate.
Identify cost reduction opportunities, compile appropriate information, prepare project proposals and provide status updates to immediate Supervisor.
Learn and employ Lean Manufacturing techniques and actively engage other Team Members throughout the company to further develop a continuous improvement culture.
Daily problem solving to address safety, quality, and delivery issues. Develop corrective actions through the 5 whys and other root cause analysis techniques.
Participate in the design and development of new process equipment, tooling and QA devices that must be produced to ensure customer requirements are met.
Create and maintain BOMs and work instructions that accurately reflect processes.
Initiate and manage changes through the EC (Engineering Change) system.

Job Requirements

REQUIREMENTS

Sophomore, Junior, or Senior level currently in good academic standing and enrolled in an accredited Engineering program.
Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Able to interpret basic Engineering drawings, schematics and specifications.
Working knowledge of simple electrical circuits, mechanics, pneumatics and hydraulics is preferred.
Possess basic knowledge of the Safe operation and application of mechanical and fabrication tools and machinery.
Must possess strong computer skills including the familiarity with MS Excel, Work and PowerPoint.
Proficiency with SolidWorks software is preferred.
A basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing Principles is a plus.
