Job Description

The Mechanic Technician I is responsible for:
Completion of preventative maintenance, locating sources of mechanical and equipment problems, removing and adjusting defective parts.
Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories, and order parts as needed.
Prepares and maintains mechanical maintenance charts and reports as required.
Stocking, cleans, and maintains maintenance department.
Responsible for providing team support within all departments to foster accuracy and excellence in quality customer service.
Responsible for knowing, understanding, and adhering to company and department safety policies and procedures.
Works in a safe manner whenever on company property. Immediately reports safety problems to supervisor or a manager.
Attends all company safety training.
Will perform other additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Personal Protective Equipment may be required, based upon task. Safety Glassed, Hearing Protection, Work Gloves will be provided. Safety Boots are required.
Work overtime beyond 40 hours/week dependent on varying Business needs.
Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, pulling, pushing, grasping, and lifting.
Stand and walk on a concrete surface for extended periods (approx. 3 hours/each) throughout a standard 8-hour work shift.
Ascend and descend work platform stairs to access installations at varying heights. Ascend and descend vertical steps of heavy equipment to access Operators cab.
Reach overhead as well as bend, crouch and kneel to floor level to access installations.
Regularly lift/carry up to 50 lbs. loads from floor level to chest level. Push/pull items exerting loads up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work in extreme conditions including heavy rain, wind or excessive temperatures.

Must be able to use hand tools, power tools, lifts, hoists, ladders, and platforms.
Have knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a Mechanics Shop.

High School diploma or equivalent, with some college or trade school preferred

0 - 2 years in multiple disciplines in Mechanic or Shop environment preferred.
