Job Description


We are looking for a qualified Mechanical Engineer with 7 years of hands on experience in all phases of full cycle mechanical engineering development process. You will be working with Product Development & Marketing teams to develop our next gen state of the art electromechanical solutions in our line of business. You will participate in and lead conceptualizing, discovery, design, building, testing, and supporting highly integrated electromechanical products for stenography. Overall, you will be actively involved in improving the user experience and efficiency by evaluating, revising, updating the design and specifications of the existing products, and developing new state of the art electromechanical solutions and serve as an expert.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop new electromechanical products from scratch (conceptualize, plan, designing, Finite Element Analysis, Computation, Calculations GD&T etc.) and evolve and improve the existing products
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product goals and specifications are clear based on the market and product research data
  • Participation in qualitative research activities and establish product specifications including design objectives, product features, cost targets, and deadlines based upon project requirements.
  • Create and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications using computer software (Solid works)
  • Perform detailed documentation to track project development and design process
  • Ensure project timeline is met and project stays within budget
  • Participate in agile planning/scoping activities with assigned Product coordinator.
  • Develop and exercise best practices for mechanical engineering 
  • Operate effectively under time constraints and meet deadlines

Experience and Skills

  • Full cycle development of electromechanical equipment and strong understanding of manufacturing processes
  • Designing for Manufacturability and Assembly, and reliability/durability and validating through testing
  • Testing and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis
  • 3D and 2D software experience in the latest CAD and rendering packages. Experience using SolidWorks a great plus
  • Presenting concepts, ideas, and results to stakeholders
  • Results focused collaboration with cross-functional product, marketing, electronics/electrical, software development and sales teams
  • Firm grasp of engineering concepts, and experience designing mechanical systems and products
  • Excellent mathematical skills: ability to apply advanced mathematical principles and statistics to solve problems

Educational Qualification:

  • BS (MS preferred) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent; or combination of education, or training with demonstrated relevant equivalent experience
