KINEDYNE CORPORATION JOB DESCRIPTION LOCATION: AL JOB TITLE: Production Supervisor JOB CODE: EEO CODE: POSITION REPORTS TO: Plant Manager EXEMPT SALARIED JOB PURPOSE/NARRATIVE: Responsible for the overall operations of the Cargo Net Department to include overseeing accuracy, timeliness, safety, and supervision of personnel. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide leadership to Cargo Net Lead and production employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Accomplish staff results by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring and appraising job results; coaching, counseling and disciplining employees. Responsible for payroll and time/attendance functions related to their direct reports. RESPONSIBILITIES: Plans, coordinates, and reviews procedures and processes, to ensure shipment of materials from facility. Ensures that staff operations meet or exceed customer service delivery commitment. Communicates exceptions to delivery promises to the Plant Manager; promptly responds to requests for status information from Plant Manager. Responsible for cleanliness and organization of Sewing / Roll Up departments. Manage vacation / sick/ personal time on employees in Sew / Roll Up departments. Responsible for MRO request for supplies ( boxes, pallets, thread etc) Responsible for daily / weekly / planning of the Sewing and Roll/ Up departments. Communication daily with the Plant Manager on orders to be shipped and orders delayed. Promotes good safety practices and adherence to company safety policies and procedures within the department. Ensures that labor hours are utilized to capacity (employee wasted time due to talking, standing around or intentional slowdown of production). MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to perform math skills to include counting, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Must be able to think independently and make decisions corresponding to company policies and procedures. Must have ability to have working knowledge of and perform keyboarding/computer data entry skills. Must have ability to work effectively, efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced work environment. Must be possess excellent time management skills and implement strategies to map out production load for predictable and consistent output. Must have ability to function with minimal supervision. Must have personal integrity, ability to address multi-task work assignments, ability to communicate positively and effectively, and the ability to work in a positive manner to project a positive and professional image to those outside of the company, management staff, co-workers, and all other individuals and departments within the company. Must have ability to have and maintain regular and predictable attendance. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Standing and walking the majority of the day. Freely move around all areas of the plant. Frequent bending, stooping, stretching, walking. Ability to lift 50 lbs. to support department when workload demands. OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Competent keyboarding. Able to prepare appropriate e-mail communication. Understanding of manufacturing terms and methods. Forklift certified. EDUCATION: High school diploma EXPERIENCE: At least five years experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, at least two years in a leadership position.
