Job Description

Key Performance Areas

Drives Business Results -

  • Read and interpret part/product drawings in accordance with industry standards
  • Analyze part/product specifications and manufacturing process/procedures to determine best practices to meet or exceed quality standards
  • Develop quality plans and other process controls to ensure processes, work in progress and finished goods meet the specified quality standards
  • Perform and lead Root Cause Analysis and 8D Corrective Actions
  • Lead Material Review Board process and non-conforming material disposition
  • Prepare, present, and manage component quality metrics including ppm and corrective actions
  • Execute continuous improvement activities using statistical analysis and data.
  • Manage supplier part approval process prior to production launch on new components or changes to existing components.
  • Provide quality support to cross functional New Product Development projects
  • Facilitate business process re-engineering
  • Lead internal and external quality audits as required.

Job Requirements

Experience and Education:

  • Experience: Minimum 5+ years Quality Engineer in a manufacturing environment
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Material Sciences
  • Continuous Improvement:  Proven track record in driving continuous quality improvement in a manufacturing environment
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal communication.
  • Technology:  Strong working knowledge of MS Office, SolidWorks, ERP System

Supervisory Responsibility - This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work - This is a full-time position.  Work hours are Monday thru Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.  Occasional early morning, evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel – Some domestic and international travel required.  Less than 15%

Work Environment - The position operates in a professional office environment using standard office equipment such as computers, iPads, phones, copiers and filing cabinets. Occasionally the work environment may be loud. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and moving mechanical parts.
