Job Description

  • Manages and administers the elements of the quality management system, including the quality manual, operating procedures and working instructions.
  • Conducts quality assurance audits of National Strand production assuring company standards are maintained and product integrity is preserved.
  • Manages all customer claims: gathers data, generates corrective actions and liaises with plant/sales teams to ensure actions are implemented and effectively closed.
  • Develops and implements a regime for incoming product inspection and acceptance/rejection criteria.
  • Manages reject to facilitate its identification, segregation, disposition and reduction in a cost-effective way.
  • Manages supplier claims: collects data, submits non-conformity reports, discusses with suppliers and follows-up to closure in a timely way.
  • Act as the focal point for all quality related issues and report to management as needed.
  • Schedule and coordinate all internal and external audit activities, address non-conformities and maintain audit history.
  • Evaluates and presents trends in quality data to identify potential opportunities for improvement.
  • Organizes plant calibration program and activities.
  • Provides and documents standard tools for continuous improvement activities including (but not limited to): PDCA; six sigma; 5S; 8D corrective action, SPC, process flowcharts.
  • Manages product testing and certification for both internal and external purposes
  • Maintains quality documentation as required.
  • Performs any other duties as assigned by management.
