Position Description:

Barko Hydraulics, LLC is seeking a Quality Technician to assist with our goal of delivering the very best product to our customer. The Quality Technician position will be responsible for completing quality control measures to ensure that our products comply with quality standards. The position will perform testing, auditing, and in-process inspections on multiple models across all Barko product lines. The quality technician will also be responsible for root cause analysis of quality issues and for the quick implementation of solutions.


  • Comply with all Company Safety Standards, exhibiting safe working behavior and maintaining a safe workplace by performing Daily Standard Housekeeping to meet the 5S metrics. Escalate all unsafe conditions so they can be promptly addressed.

  • Perform quality tests and final audits of machines before delivery to the customer.

  • Troubleshoot problems as necessary.

  • Ensure all process/quality documentation is complete and accurate.

  • Document and report all non-conformances.

  • Use root cause analysis to eliminate reoccurrence of issues.

  • Champion the implementation of solutions to eliminate any reoccurrence.

  • Escalate supplier quality issues to the Quality department.

  • Perform in-process and receiving inspections for high risk processes and parts.

  • Maintain tool calibration program.

  • Read and interpret schematics and drawings, communicating with Engineers as necessary.

  • Assist with non-conformance reports.

  • Abide by the methods and procedures inherent in position as directed by management.

  • Execute safety and facility improvement projects as needed.

  • Supervise production personnel as needed.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Operation of Heavy Equipment.

  • Work overtime beyond 40 hours/week dependent on varying Business needs.

  • Stand and walk on a concrete surface for extended periods (approx. 3 hours/each) throughout a standard work shift.

  • Ascend and descend work platform stairs to access installations at varying heights. Ascend and descend vertical steps of heavy equipment to access Operators cab.

  • Reach overhead as well as bend, crouch and kneel to floor level to access installations. Work from a laying position on a Mechanics creeper. Assume awkward positions for restricted-access installations.

  • Occasionally lift/carry up to 50 lbs. loads from floor level to chest level. Push/pull items exerting loads up to 50 lbs.

  • Use of heavy tools (25 lbs) up to chest height as well as heavy (30 lbs.) impact/power/pneumatic tools.

Job Requirements


  • The ability to rapidly learn and retain the knowledge required to test all products with a consistent, high-level of quality is a must.

  • Experience operating, servicing or assembling heavy equipment is preferred.

  • Experience with torque wrenches, hydraulic gauges, and hydraulic instrumentation.

  • Knowledge of design and specifications of typical hydraulic systems in heavy equipment.

  • Experience reading and interpreting specifications and drawings.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, 2 Year Degree is preferred.

  • Problem solving/troubleshooting skills and understanding of Lean techniques is a plus. (Kaizen, 5S / visual management, Standard Work).

  • Demonstrated competency with computers and programs such as; Microsoft Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

  • Attention to detail and the ability to communicate with multiple individuals/departments is essential to this role.
