Job Description

The Quality Technician will work within the Quality group and requires strong inspection knowledge including CMM, inspection methods for various complexity of product.
The technician will develop and maintain quality documents records. The technician will also inspect and validate product for development, production and quality investigations. The quality technician also has the responsibiltiy to inspect fixtures, incoming material, production components, final assemblies and report results to team as well as complete FAI reports.

The primary duties consist of, but are not limited to the following:
Programing and operation of CMM, 3D Scanning and various measuring equipment and devices.
Generate CMM Inspection Reports - Collect, collate and report data results in required formats
Interface with Quality, Engineering and Production to ensure test methods, processes and components are in accordance with customer requirements
Perform CMM inspections of various components at various stages of the manufacturing process
Approves components for release.
Responsible for reviewing and releasing finished product for shipping Final Dock Audits.
Reports any deviations, non-conformances, product, or in-process issues to Quality management.
Ability to develop FAI reports utilizing AS9102 forms and software

Job Requirements


CMM and a wide variety of measuring equipment, 3D scanning a plus
3-5 years of layout inspection for discrete products (machined, stamped parts).
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and applicable specifications
Able to use general inspection equipment, including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, etc.
Solid knowledge of GDT including ANSI-Y-14.5
Able to incorporate changes in CMM technology, software and capabilities into CMM inspection and programs
Use of the CMM for inspection in the manual mode
Minimum of 2 years experience as a CMM Inspector.
Good working knowledge of GDT, measurement methods and measurement equipment
Ability to use various measuring tools such as Height Gauges, Dial Indicators, Calipers, Micrometers, etc.
Demonstrates a minimum of 2 years with one or more of the following: CAD CAM skills, MasterCam, Solidworks,
Understanding of ITAR requirements is preferred
Mechanical Aptitude
Knowledge of measuring equipment and gage calibration - ISO/IEC 17025
Understanding of Surface Roughness
Strong Computer Skills: Word, Outlook, Excel
Possesses good interpersonal and communication skills. Works well with as a teammate as well as independently. Has a positive attitude and a continuous improvement mindset
