Position: Sales Engineer Wire Cable

Reports To: Director of Sales Marketing Energy Solutions

Location/Department: Sales Marketing

The Position This position is a member of the Sales Marketing Department. The Sales Engineer will report directly to the Director of Sales Marketing Energy Solutions. This role is a hands-on sales position on the Sales Marketing Team with great growth potential and a significant amount of travel (including international travel) will be involved. This position also requires a good knowledge in Bartell Product Awareness and extensive market knowledge with a high degree of customer contact. The primary objective being to identify order opportunities, develop and implement action plans for order closures, and maintain good customer working relationships in the Bartell Wire Cable Market.

Job Description

Primary Responsibilities

Develop good customer working relationships

o Compile customer profile data base

o Develop personal relationships with strategic customer personnel

o Meet with prime customers on a regular basis (Domestic and International)

Promote Bartell products and services

o Maintain a good working knowledge of all Bartell products and services

o Conduct product presentations o Compile and issue product quotations and proposals

o Organize and attend trade shows as requested

Identify individual order opportunities for Bartell products and services

o Determine customer strategic goals and objectives

o Develop full understanding of customer requirements

o Develop and maintain accurate order forecast information

o Assist in the collection of general marketing information

o Develop a global account strategy to maximize Bartells opportunities

o Seek out and advise regarding competitor products and services

Convert order opportunities into sales orders

o Develop and implement action plans for individual order closure

o Arrange project closure meetings and conduct project negotiations as required

o Ensure engineering and manufacturing departments are advised and understand order profiles prior to order acceptance

o Interface with territorial agents and UK office and Qingdao office as required

Transfer customer requirements to internal departments

o Develop complete and accurate equipment specifications per ISO with customer

o Convey clear and concise specifications requirements via timely F.O. release meetings

o Ensure internal schedules of events compliment customer requirements

Maintain project interface

o Coordinate project information between customer and internal departments

o Stay abreast of project developments and changes to scheduled events

o Coordinate customer visits to Bartell ensuring all relevant associates are timely advised

Account management, order forecasting and order closure

Able to gain strong working knowledge of industrial machinery related business practices including collecting and organizing industry information on competitors products and services, industry trends and specifications for new product development

Bachelors Degree preferred

Skills amp; Relevant Work Experience

Engineering background

Commercial awareness and negotiating skills

General market knowledge and contact base required

Total Bartell product awareness

Prior experience in extensive traveling including International visits, frequently more than 2 weeks

Strong communication skills and commitment to a Team Environment to ensure Engineering and Manufacturing Departments are advised and understand order profiles prior to order closure/acceptance. Interface with territorial agents and UK office as required

Hands on working knowledge with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)

Microsoft Dynamics experience desired

Travel Requirements: Up to 75
