Job Description

The Technical Sales Manager will actively promote the companys products and services by frequently engaging with existing and prospective customers. Applicant will pursue potential applications and sales directly with customers in a designated sales territory as well as specific assigned accounts. The Manager is expected to work closely with applications engineers and sales team to develop account strategies and tactics. There is a responsibility for achieving and exceeding a defined sales quota throughout the assigned territory.

Position has a high level of travel expectancy.

Job Requirements

Primary Responsibilities


  • Understands customer end-use markets as well as the technical details relative to the use of our products in their applications and provides technical support to customer.

  • Responsible for the design in, technical and eventual sale of the product via re-sellers, OEM direct or face-to-face contact.

  • Consults with customers and potential customers to determine their needs and priorities.

  • Manages and drives territory performance versus a planned budget and balances customer needs with Company business objectives and target account plans.

  • Maintain strong market and applications understanding and prospects for new business by studying markets and customer needs.

  • Assists resellers with organizational skills, account strategies, territory planning and administrative responsibilities to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction is maintained.

  • Develops and increases sales revenue to meet assigned targets.

  • Becomes actively involved in a new resellers sales orientation and sales training programs.

  • Acts as a resource to resellers in contract opportunities and proposals.

  • Assists resellers with contract negotiations, closing the sale and developing marketing plans for contract accounts.

  • Assists with the planning of sales exhibits.

  • Attends trade shows.

  • Participates in education and training conferences on selling and marketing programs.

  • Answers questions from resellers and handles complaints.

  • Performs other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.




Job Requirements


Education



  • Bachelors degree in business, electrical engineering or equivalent experience




Skills Relevant Work Experience



  • Five plus years of engineering or sales experience with electronic components.

  • Advanced training in recent sales techniques.

  • At least three years of field sales experience.

  • Experience in B2B sales within manufacturing industry

  • Ability to work closely with Engineering and Operations associates to satisfy customer needs and develop new products

  • Negotiation and leadership skills

  • Ability to handle multiple projects and make sound decisions

  • Excellent communication, presentation, listening, and relationship-building skills

  • Proficient with MS Office platform and familiar with other business systems software

  • High levels of energy, self-motivation, and organizational ability
