Ceco Concrete Construction is offering a challenging opportunity for an experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join our Corporate Office team in Kansas City. This position will perform a lead role in supporting the accounting, financial, and reporting efforts for the company. The successful candidate will work directly with the Assistant Controller providing financial analysis and helping to ensure a high level of integrity in financial reports.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Accounting responsibility for several Accounts Payable and operational programs.
    • Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
    • Review and approval of alternating cash disbursements.
    • Review and authenticate vendor setup requests.
    • Assist with regulatory reporting and analyze data.
    • Manage Purchase Cards/Concur Expense Programs.
  • Accounting responsibility for pertinent payroll and operational programs.
    • Review and approve weekly field (union and non-union) payrolls.
    • Review Per Diem Paperwork and track compliance.
  • Monthly journal entry accountability; creating, posting and account reconciliations.
  • Periodic auditing and reporting of regional business units.
  • Collaborates with the other finance department managers to support overall department goals and objectives.
  • Perform special projects and complete all other duties as assigned or requested for the general support of the organization.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related degree.
  • Minimum of five years of Accounting work experience with demonstrated ability in similar position responsibilities.
  • Highly developed mathematical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills \u0026ndash; interpersonal, written, verbal and presentation.
  • Excellent leadership and customer service skills with the ability to formulate practical and operational friendly solutions to a variety of business challenges.
  • Advanced experience and command using the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Outlook).
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or CPA Candidate.
