Job Description

Coach, mentor and train suppliers in using Lean Principals to reduce waste throughout the supply chain.

Lead/participate in start-up programs working with key suppliers to ensure capability and capacity for new program launch and/or fluctuations in forecast.

Provide onsite supplier support to ensure continuity or recovery of supply (i.e. when supplier delivery and/or capacity constraints present a threat to Pettibone).

Perform value stream and capacity analysis at supplier locations and recommend changes in processes/production to reduce lead time and waste.

Monitor supplier delivery performance.

Perform supplier assessments to identify and mitigate risks with new and existing suppliers.

Identify and action potential cost reduction through Value Improvement/Value Engineering.

Lead/participate in team continual improvement projects as appropriate.

Work with Strategic Sourcing to help implement commodity strategies ensuring a capable supply base.

Work with strategic and operations purchasing to develop order fulfillment and flexibility plans.

Job Requirements

Four-year degree in Engineering or Supply Chain discipline w/3 years experience preferred

Strong communication skills, both written and oral.

Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Lean Manufacturing Tools and Concepts

Demonstrated understanding of business practices with experience in supplier management, contract negotiation, logistics, warehousing and lean supply chain practices.

Experience in import/export compliance.
