Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Assists in analyzing productivity and quality trends, developing plans and procedures to improve performance.
    • Authorizes necessary adjustments to set-ups during course of operations to maintain accurate production.
    • Responsible for coordinating the training of new employees and takes responsibility for their advancement.
    • Responsible for stimulating team-based quality and productivity improvement activities and supporting the basis for continuous improvement.
    • Implements measures to motivate employees and improve morale.
    • Responsible for keeping the General Manager informed of activities and/or problems and maintaining effective communication between shifts.
    • Carries out team lead responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies and applicable laws, including: interviewing, training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
    • Determines manpower requirements, resolves scheduling and capacity issues.
    • Works with production scheduling to maintain an adequate work for material flow.
    • Sets work schedule and determines overtime requirements for work force.
    • Responsible for cleanliness of his/her own work area and the general housekeeping of the Company.
    • Reports any unsafe conditions to Supervisor/Management.
    • Other duties as assigned. 

EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in aluminum extrusion die repair.
  • Possess good written/oral communications skills, as well as the ability to present his/her views in a clear and compelling manner. Able to deal effectively with broad range of personalities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated problem analysis and problem-solving skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to use hands and arms to finger, handle, feel and control objects or tools. The employee is regularly required to stand and occasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move 75 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is exposed to airborne particles and chemicals.   The noise level is usually very loud. The employee is required to wear safety glasses, hard hat, hearing protection, safety shoes along with job specific PPE.
