Position Overview
A Plant Supervisor stands at the heart of a manufacturing facility, balancing operational efficiency, safety, and team leadership. Charged with overseeing daily activities, the supervisor is responsible not only for maintaining production schedules and communicating with customers but also for fostering a culture of continuous improvement and compliance. This role is dynamic, requiring strategic vision, practical know-how, and the interpersonal finesse to lead diverse teams in ever-changing environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Oversight: Direct, coordinate, and monitor all plant production processes, ensuring that output meets established quality, quantity, and timeline targets. Make real-time decisions to resolve bottlenecks or operational issues as they arise.
- Supervision and Leadership: Manage, mentor, and motivate production staff. Assign tasks, set clear expectations, and facilitate ongoing training and development.
- Safety and Compliance: Cultivate a workplace culture that prioritizes health and safety. Enforce safety policies, conduct regular audits, and ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards. Assist with accident investigations and promote corrective actions.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor product quality throughout the production cycle. Work closely with personnel to resolve issues, implement process improvements, and maintain documentation for certifications.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities for operational efficiencies and cost reduction.
- Collaboration: Liaise with other functional departments, such as maintenance, logistics, and human resources, to ensure seamless plant operations and resolve cross-functional challenges.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, manufacturing, business administration, or related field preferred but not required. Equivalent experience will be considered.
- Experience: Prefer of 3-5 years’ supervisory experience within a manufacturing or processing environment. Proven history of team leadership and process improvement.
