The Assembler will be responsible for the assembly and finish operations on of aluminum chassis and cold plates for the Aerospace and Defense industries. This is a critical role within the Assembly team and requires a detailed mind set. This role reports directly to the Manufacturing Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Strive towards a culture of proactive safety.
- Perform prep grind work using pneumatic grinders and DA sanders on alumnium chassis including removal of tack welds and excess braze in preparataion for CNC machinig components.
- Perform final finish operation using pneumatic tooling to produce consistent finish on alumnium chassis and cold plates.
- 100% inspects work pieces for cosmetic appearance and obvious non-conformities.
- Installation of various components of hardware per specifications or direction from manager.
- Follow Job Travelers for specific routing steps to be performed. Logging activity in ERP system for time and piece count tracking requirements.
- Maintain traceability of parts and work orders as parts move through finishing.
- Cleans work areas, or equipment, to maintain a clean and safe work area as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma, or General Education Degree (GED).
- Autobody finishing experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with using non-electric hand tools preferred.
- Experience with finishing alumnium using pneumatic tooling (i.e. Dynabrade) preferred.
- Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
- Ability to read internal drawings and use basic measuring equipment.
- Fine attention to detail.
- Commitment to quality.
