Production & Fabrication Manager

We are seeking a hands-on Production & Fabrication Manager to lead our steel fabrication shop. This role is critical to efficiently building and reconditioning steel concrete formwork. The ideal candidate will have strong steel fabrication skills, experience with CNC plasma tables and CNC press brakes, and proven leadership ability to manage and motivate a production team. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead all shop production activities, including fabrication, assembly, and reconditioning of steel concrete forms.
• Analyze product concepts or prints and determine the fastest, most efficient fabrication method using CNC equipment (plasma tables, press brakes).
• Work hands-on with CNC programming, setup, and troubleshooting as needed.
• Mentor, train, and lead shop employees — setting daily/weekly priorities and ensuring quality craftsmanship.
• Collaborate with engineering and management to improve manufacturability, speed, and cost-effectiveness of products.
• Maintain and enforce quality control processes across all fabrication and reconditioning operations.
• Manage shop inventory, material orders, and equipment maintenance.
• Foster a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement on the shop floor.

Qualifications:

• Mandatory: 5+ years of experience in steel fabrication — including hands-on experience with CNC plasma tables, CNC press brakes, and fabrication techniques.
• Preferred: Background in manufacturing leadership roles in fabrication shops, construction-related manufacturing, or structural steel fabrication.
• Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and blueprints.
• Strong leadership skills — experience managing and motivating shop-floor teams.
• Practical problem-solving mindset with a “builder’s” mentality.
• Proficiency with basic production and CNC software tools is a plus (e.g., AutoCAD, nesting software, CNC controls).
• Knowledge of Pan and Joist construction (preferred but not required).
