Job Description

The EHS Coordinator position is responsible for developing, planning and directing environmental and health/safety activities to ensure employee engagement, regulatory compliance and implement policies to promote a culture of safe working and the environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establish a culture that is aligned with EHS goals and objectives, with continuous EHS improvements.
  • Direct, coach, lead, and motivate plant personnel to achieve EHS goals and objectives in a timely and safe manner, while continuously striving to improve safety skills & awareness.
  • Plans, directs, and coordinates EHS compliance activities through functional teams.
  • Acts as EHS liaison assisting in the execution of our EHS plan.
  • Responsible for directing incident investigations identifying root causes of EHS Incidents and executing sustainable corrective actions.
  • Identify and develop good working relationships with federal and local authorities (i.e., safety agencies, Government agencies, etc.) as well as appropriate internal Environmental, Health and Safety contacts.
  • Coordinate and/or conduct EH&S training programs.
  • Coordinate and assist in the execution of capital EHS projects to ensure compliance with requirements and completion on a timely basis.
  • Assist in providing information for Workers Compensation requests (incident investigations)
  • Responsible for driving processes that will result in a reduction of accidents and injuries and the identification of potential hazards present in the workplace.
  • Advise, develop, and facilitate safety training to new shop floor employees and supervisors.
  • Report health and safety awareness, issues, and statistics through safety management software (Gensuite)
  • Coordinates, and provides input for facilities planning, building repairs, or maintenance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:           Degree in Occupational Health, safety, safety management or relevant field experience

Experience:         5 - 7+ years EHS experience in manufacturing environment (custom equipment, metal fabrication, system assembly and testing)

Specific skills and knowledge requirement:

  • Knowledge of legal EHS guidelines in United States (Texas & Florida)
  • Strong oral and written communication, analytical, problem solving and human relations skills.
  • Execution, attention to detail, initiative, costumer focus and drive for change.
  • Must be highly organized; able to prioritize and meet target dates in a very fast-paced environment.
  • Result driven and accountable for actions.
  • Ability to work independently while seeing others as essential team members.
  • Strong organizational and systems implementation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Sound leadership coaching skills; investigation skills
