SJ Hamill Construction has an immediate opening for a Piling Superintendent. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in piling techniques and deep foundation construction. As a Piling Superintendent, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of piling projects to ensure they are completed safely, efficiently, and within budget.




POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise piling crews and equipment operators to ensure work is performed according to specifications and safety standards
  • Responsible for field operations including quality and production, safety, equipment management, maintenance and need allocation, and client interactions on a single or multiple projects.
  • Manage construction operations for Heavy Civil, Bridge, and Marine project operations including pile driving, concrete formwork, barge handling, and crane operations.
  • Establishes work schedules and ensures appropriate manpower is available for the project.
  • Performs special projects and completes all other duties as assigned or requested for the general support of the organization.
  • Interpret the job specification requirements to the company, subcontractors and vendors.
  • Make certain administrative and business decisions in the name of the company.
  • Receive and review the project budget provided by Project Manager.
  • Implement and maintain the project schedule.
  • Help prepare and review all project submittals.
  • Help maintain project records, including all correspondence, and reports (safety, daily and QA/QC), delivery tickets, time cards, etc.
  • Maintain materials and suppliers by developing procedures for receiving and storing materials and supplies. Establishing delivery schedules and expediting orders.
  • Oversee all aspects of maritime projects, including technical, operational, and administrative aspects.
  • Monitor and report project progress to senior management.



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years’ experience in piling operations with 10+ years of prior construction experience.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills to effectively work with all levels of the company.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret, technical procedures and government regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of safety and relevant OSHA requirements and regulations.
  • Availability and willingness to work weekends and night shifts per business needs.
  • Proficiently navigate and operate computers and tablets.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/ PHYSCIAL DEMANDS:

  • Capable of working outside or on the water in variable climates, traversing large active construction sites, and working around welding, cutting, grinding, marine vessels, heavy equipment, cranes, dirt, dust, noise, and vibrations. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands, arms, shoulders, legs, reach with hands and arms and verbally communicate clearly. The employee is sometimes required to climb or balance. Ability to lift and or carry 50 lbs.
