Field technicians can work on many different types of products, including computers, heating and cooling systems, security systems, factory machinery, and more. An applicable certificate or associate's degree is generally preferred for this position.

A typical day in the life of a field technician might include:
• Making scheduled maintenance visits to regular clients to ensure systems are operating properly
• Responding to client requests for repairs
• Installing new products or systems
• Explaining proper operation of the product to customers.
