Job Description

This position will float between the Creel and Finishing areas of our Web Plant. 

The Creel Hand is responsible for preparing yarn spools to be loaded onto the creel, ensuring the creel does not run out of yarn, and assisting the warping operator during changeovers. This position will work with the warping team to manufacture beams of yarn to be used the weaving process.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Responsible for unpacking yarn spools and inspecting for quality.
  • Responsible for reporting any yarn spool issues to the warping operator.
  • Responsible for loading the Creel Cart with spools and transporting them into the Creel via the Creel Cart.
  • Responsible for unloading empty yarn spools from the creel, Loading full yarn spools onto the creel, and tying in the full spools of yarn.
  • Responsible for ensuring the creel does not stop due to an empty yarn spool.
  • Responsible for reporting any safety, quality, or mechanical issues to the warping operator.
  • Responsible for assisting the warping operator with all change over processes.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. overhead.
  • Responsible for breaking down all cardboard packaging and taking to the cardboard compactor.
  • Responsible for disposing of empty yarn spools.

The Finishing Operator is responsible for setting up the finishing machine that will apply a finish coating to raw webbing per specified color. 

What you will be responsible for:

  • Responsible for producing quality material through proper adjustment of finishing machine settings.
  • Responsible for verifying proper color match with the use of a light box or colorimeter.
  • Responsible for recording the amount material consumed and produced each day.
  • Must be able to climb a ladder and work from a height of 10 foot.


Manufacturing environment including noise, fumes, chemicals, and moving parts. Capable and willing to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.  Work will be on a production floor environment where conditions vary seasonally from hot and humid in the summer to relatively cool in the winter.


Standing and walking most of the day.  Freely move around all areas of the net production area.  Must have the ability to push, pull, and lift up to 45 lbs.  Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, pulling, pushing, grasping, and lifting. Computer use (sitting, typing, viewing screen).
