Primary Responsibilities

  • Assists in controlling hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee activities by collaborating with project management/supervisory personnel.
  • Conducts regular walk through safety inspections of construction areas to determine compliance with company rules and regulation.
  • Completes reports of inspections in a timely manner documenting any noted deficiencies and follow up to ensure corrective action.
  • Communicates quality standards and values of the company with foreman, superintendents and project managers to ensure compliance.
  • Relays company, owner, and government requirements and recommendations on quality construction methods and processes with field and office staff.
  • Responsible for training field staff on proper quality and safety procedures and operations.
  • Supports internal quality assurance systems and tools to assist with preparing reports for field superintendents, project managers and subcontractors detailing compliant and non-compliant conditions.
  • Participates in staff, team or quality committee meetings, fostering quality efforts, reporting on quality trends or issues and creating communication plans to mitigate the issues.
  • Performs special projects and completes all other duties as assigned or requested for the general support of the organization

Minimum Qualifications

  • Two years of work experience and or related education specializing in Safety or Construction Management, with one year including on-site construction Environmental Health and Safety or Quality Control responsibilities.
  • Ability to setup and use PLS, Builders Level, Grade Stick, and Rotary Levels.
  • Understanding of ACI, PTI, and CRSI Tolerances.
  • Basic knowledge of construction safety work rules and relevant OSHA requirements and regulations including, OSHA Part 1910 and 1926 Safety requirements, NEC, NFPA and ANSI standards for construction.
  • Knowledge of material and field-testing for QA processes.
  • Ability or recognize non-compliant conditions and initiate corrective measures.
  • Intermediate PC skills with experience in Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel and Outlook are required.
