Job Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist Accounting Management with the day-to-day, monthly and year-end operations of the Accounting/Finance Department.
  • Develop and maintain financial and cost accounting processes and controls. Analyze existing procedures/policies and make recommendations and improvements as needed.
  • Develop and adjust standardized costs for labor, materials and overhead.
  • Analyze actual labor, material, and overhead cost against standard/budget and explain variances.
  • Capture and classify cost data to determine costs associated with product lines, projects or departments.
  • Determine production costs, cost of sales and other cost-related metrics.
  • Track monthly costs and production activity to identify areas for cost and process improvement.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial closing and reporting.
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses to assist Management.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; emphasis on advanced Excel functions (vlookups & pivot tables).
  • Working knowledge of data analysis and key performance indicators.
  • Team player who fosters a collaborative environment within the organization.
  • High level of interpersonal skills with demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy.
  • Demonstrate a proficient level of knowledge in accounting and keep current with developments and trends. Knowledge and ability to use applicable information technology and systems to meet work needs.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to clearly communicate issues to all levels of management.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance, CPA and/or MBA a plus.
  • 1-4 years’ experience in cost accounting and financial reporting, manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Systems savvy. Ability to navigate multiple ERP systems and embrace conversions to new systems.
  • Strong technical skills in both general and cost accounting.
