Job Description

Create Quality System documentation

        Generate and update documentation for the quality system. Must be familiar with the document and record control requirements of the Quality System.

Non-Conforming Material Review and containment activities

        Monitor and maintain QC hold area. This includes facilitating the movement of material in and out of the hold area. Coordinate rework with the production dept. Assist with returning parts to inventory and the disposition scrap. Responsible for coordinating containment activities for quality issues. This includes overseeing sorting, rework and disposition of suspect material.

Process RMA’s

        Ability to perform the necessary quality functions to process returned material through the RMA process.  This includes reviewing the returns, overseeing any necessary rework and ensuring the correct disposition. Initiate corrective actions on customer returns. Investigate root causes.

Molding process

        Must have general knowledge of injection and compression molding processes. Possess a general understanding of processing inputs and causes for various molding defects.

Gage Calibration System

        Understand the gage calibration system. In conjunction with the Quality Manager, monitor and coordinate gage calibrations. Arrange and schedule calibration with outside vendors.

Lean Activities

        Be trained in Lean manufacturing concepts. Participate in Lean activities when required.

Provide assistance to Quality Assurance Manager.

                Work on special projects assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager.

Responsible for maintaining quality standards and ISO procedures.  Able to communicate with operators and supervisors to discuss defects.  Can hold production to confer with manager for solutions.

Requires occasional lifting up to 30lbs. Exposure to plant environment, consisting of dust, dirt, noise and heat.  Requires excellent mobility to be on plant floor most of the day. Requires long hours and availability for overtime.

Specific Training, Knowledge, Skills Required:

  • All skills required under the Level 2 QC Inspector job description.
  • Mapics – General use.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite.
  • The ability to read, write and speak English is a must.  Bilingual - Spanish/English
  • Involves occasional lifting of boxes and working safely to 30 lbs. 
  • Maintain excellent mobility and dexterity in order to operate all measuring equipment and handle constant activity required to move from workstation to work station. 
  • Good organization skills and being able to self-manage work duties.
  • Availability for overtime is necessary.
  • Experience working in an ISO Quality Environment.
