Job Description

JOB DUTIES:

  • Support LANs, WANs, IPSEC tunnels, network segments, and maintain network and system efficiency.
  • Ensure design of system allows all components to work properly together and make recommendations for future upgrades.
  • Periodically upgrade or install new versions as required: Domain Controllers, Terminal Server, Microsoft Exchange Server, SolidWorks and PDM Vault, SQL Servers, and System Security Consoles.
  • Maintain mixed server environment (HyperV and VMWare) and all Virtual Machines.
  • Provide support on Office 365 platform (administration and maintenance of shared tenant).
  • Maintain updates and changes on SonicWall firewalls as required.
  • Maintain Meraki wireless systems.
  • Maintain mixed environment of network peripheral equipment (switches, printers, VoIP phones.
  • Maintain Active Directory policies and user accounts locally and in the cloud (Windows servers, Azure).
  • Monitor and maintain mobile equipment through Company portal and Intune.
  • Maintain workstations and firmware on devices as required.
  • Manage the flow of troubleshooting requests through ticketing system, identify and prioritize user needs, troubleshoot problems reported by users, analyze and isolate issues.
  • Maintain smartphones, software deployment, security updates and patches and oversee invoices for usage etc.
  • Perform daily security system monitoring verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs.
  • Verify daily backup operations, ensuring all required data and systems are successfully backed up and communicate with the 3rd party cloud backup provider with any issues.
  • Configure and manage HP/Cisco/Dell networking platform.
  • Manage and facilitate required changes to the Teams phone system
  • Coordinate purchases for IT related needs of the business through various channels.
  • Oversee and authorize invoices for communications and IT related services.
  • Co-ordinate work with consultants when required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:      

  • College Diploma with a technical major in System Administration is preferable.

 Experience:

  • 2-4 years System Administration.

Specific Skill Ability and Knowledge:

  • Advanced computer skills in Office365 platform, HyperV and Vmware.
  • Business Analytics (VBA Access, SQL Server) an asset.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize with strong organizational and project management skills.
