Position Description:

The Business Development Specialist is a critical link between sales and marketing. This dynamic individual will not only have significant marketing responsibilities, but will also be involved with a broad spectrum of daily sales activity. This individual will ensure our dealer development and sales teams have accurate and timely sales information, will maintain and enter machine orders in CRM, provide high level marketing input, and work daily to ensure smooth operations of both sales and marketing.


  • Assist with managing day to day activities related to executing strategic sales initiatives including; providing market data to account managers, adjusting account manager focus based on data, and understand viable, realistic dealer leads for each account manager

  • Participate and manage all aspects of AEM: participate on committees, manage memberships, and submit required data

  • Maintain CRM system with orders and generally assist with maintenance of system

  • Assist marketing with promotional items management, including assuming the management of the online store

  • When necessary, provide trade show support as needed including scheduling shows, designing booths, shipping material, arranging travel, and travelling to shows

  • Assist literature including updating specification sheets, brochures, and mailings as necessary

  • Assist with website updates including announcements and news

  • Actively participate in Pettibone social media posting and maintenance

  • Manage dealer marketing co-op program and create opportunity to cooperatively market with dealers (e.g. mailings, social media postings, signage, etc.)

  • Assist with and manage special event planning (e.g. demos, special visitors, special events around trade shows, etc.)

  • Assist Director of Sales and Marketing with special pricing programs as necessary

  • Continuously improve on processes, procedures and daily activities

Job Requirements


  • Minimum 2-year degree in Business or Marketing or equivalent experience in business and 1-2 years of experience in the customer service, marketing, or sales-related fields.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Professional and courteous.

  • Must be dependable, resourceful, and able to think independently.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Experience in graphic design and copywriting is a plus

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Highly organized

  • High level of computer literacy including: Microsoft Office; Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point, PageMaker, Systems Online, SolidWorks, or other dynamic application experience beneficial.
