Job Description

The Director of Supply Chain will plan and direct all aspects of the organizations supply chain policies, objectives, and initiatives. Will oversee the organizations procurement, inventory, warehousing, distribution and transportation functions. Demonstrates expertise in a variety of Supply Chain concepts, practices, and procedures. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Has comprehensive knowledge of the overall departmental function.

Job Description (Key Performance amp; Result Areas)

Drives Business Results - ?

  • Develop strategic plans to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of operations. ?

  • Support senior leadership in defining and executing the companys operational strategies. ?

  • Develop, implement and maintain functional metrics to drive continuous improvement. ?

  • Establish and execute department budget. ?

  • Manage direct reports and develop a proficient team with sufficient cross-training and staffing to support the growth of the business. ?

  • Develop internal processes and systems to apply Lean methodologies to material handling and the supply chain to reduce inventory costs and improve turns. ?

  • Develop a strong, responsive, proactive supply chain through partnership and effective communication. ?

  • Lead the Supplier risk management assessment process and actions to mitigate risks. ?

  • Identify new Supply Partners and capabilities for customers and support quoting activities. ?

  • Ensure appropriate qualification of suppliers and components is completed. ?

  • Negotiate Contracts and Supply Agreements. ?

  • Become the resident expert on the purchasing and material handling elements of the Companys ERP system.

Leads People - ?

  • Mentor and manage team members. ?

  • Foster strong teamwork orientation and be a resource for valuing and promoting diversity. ?

  • Develop and implement department objectives aligned with overall company strategic goals. ?

  • Build strong relationships and influence others internally and externally at all levels of the organization. ?

  • Resolve conflict in an appropriate way.

Job Requirements

Experience and Educational Requirements:

  • Four-year degree in Supply Chain discipline and/or at least 10 years equivalent experience. ?

  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral. ?

  • Demonstrated understanding of business practices with deep experience in supplier management, contract negotiation, logistics, warehousing and lean supply chain practices. ?

  • Experience in import/export compliance.

  • This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within the department.
