Description Summary: Millwright / Mill Electrical Mechanical Technician works on a variety of machines and rotating equipment in and around the plant. Duties to include inspecting and troubleshooting equipment, installation, removal, repairing and performing Preventative Maintenance on equipment throughout the plant. This position is for an off-shift (2nd or 3rd shift).


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Mill Electrical Mechanical Technician Preferred

  • Able to follow instructions and promptly perform work while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards

  • Have electrical knowledge and ability to work on electrical systems up to 480V AC

  • Competent with programming of VFDs

  • Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot PLCs

  • Proficient in testing and troubleshooting electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and megohmmeters, to ensure compatibility and safety of system

  • Inspects and troubleshoots equipment methodically

  • Adjusts equipment for proper operation

  • Makes field repairs as production warrants

  • Performs rigging when moving parts

  • Assembles and installs spare or repair parts, equipment or systems

  • Responds to trouble calls quickly to minimize production delays

  • Uses cutting torch and welders as needed to fabricate and dismantle parts, equipment, and machines

  • Reports to supervision possible trouble spots, progress of repairs and need for parts and or help

  • Observes lockout and other safety work permit procedures

  • Performs other tasks and duties as assigned.

Job Requirements


  • Must be able to walk, climb, stand, sit, kneel, crawl, twist, bend, and squat for a minimum of eight (8) hours per day.

  • Must be able to lift/carry up to 100 lbs.

  • Must have knowledge of or experience with: appropriate hand, power, and measuring tools, torch tips, welders, lubricating systems, lubricants, hoists, tackle, various implements and hardware, fittings, bearings, gears, belts, belt dressing, slings, chains, jacks, cables, liners, shims, assorted preparation machines, blueprints, overhead cranes, hoist and necessary safety equipment

  • Welding Certification Desired

  • Work with several lubricants and chemicals associated with plant maintenance
