Job Description

The Position

This position is a member of the Production Control department. The Production Control Expeditor will report directly to the Materials Manager.

Job Description          

Primary Responsibilities

  • Printing out and delivering work order packets which includes drawings to appropriate department and work centers
  • Review of documents, such as production schedules, work orders, to determine materials requirements or material priorities
  • Confer with department supervisors or other personnel to assess progress and discuss needed changes
  • Manage delivery dates and priorities for materials needing outsourced operations such as Heat Treating, Plating, etc.
  • Compile information, such as production progress, materials inventories, materials used, or customer information, so that status reports can be completed
  • Confer with establishment personnel, and vendors to coordinate production or shipping activities and to resolve possible delays
  • Contact suppliers to verify shipment details
  • Review prints, bill of materials and work orders to accurately determine shortages    

Job Requirements


  • High School or equivalent required; Assoc. Degree/BS Degree Preferred in Business/Supply Chain

Skills & Relevant Work Experience

  • Good written & verbal communication skills required
  • Understanding of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and order replenishment techniques a plus
  • Self-starter with excellent organizational skills required
  • Strong computer skills (Information Systems; Microsoft Office, (XA) Mapics or equivalent
  • Service Orientated-actively looking for ways to help people
  • Candidate must adhere to all facility-wide safety standards and practices
  • Fluency in English
  • Responsible for providing effective communications channels with all BMS manufacturing disciplines including Production Control, Purchasing, Accounting, Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering
  • Monitor Processes, Materials, or Surroundings - Monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, to detect or assess problems
  • Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems
