Job Responsibilities
  • Prepares summary or detailed schedules for proposed projects to determine overall project duration, general conditions, and equipment needs and are to be incorporated into the proposal. The Scheduler works with the project team to establish sequencing, durations and general logic for the construction of the project.
  • Prepares detailed resource loaded schedules for projects to be used as a baseline to measure progress against for future schedule updates.
  • Performs Progress / Schedule Updates.
  • Visits and walks projects to gather update/actual information. Interface with the Superintendent and project team with regard to schedule actuals and projections.
  • Assumes overall responsibility for the project schedules. Schedule format will be such that coding or filtering activities will produce separate schedules: summary, detailed, structure, facade or any other scope of work involved in the project. Code titles and activity trade assignments should be consistent in all schedules and all projects.
  • Maintains historical schedule, resource and quantity data.
  • Maintains spreadsheet or database that can be accessed readily and that can be distributed to the appropriate parties.
  • Develops and maintains generic templates to be incorporated into the overall reporting process utilizing Microsoft Excel.
  • Assist in integrating the schedule with the cost controls and quantity reporting system.
  • Facilitate weekly schedule meetings and Progress/Cost review meetings with the client representatives.
  • Develop reports from various scheduling and project team meetings to assist the Site Superintendent in the overall execution of the work.
  • Assists the estimating department. This may include quantity surveys, plan distribution, detailed estimating, or assisting with proposal submissions.
  • Provides scheduling training to personnel as required. This will include schedule fundamentals and philosophy, as well as MS Project or P6 software training. Provide \u0027technical support\u0027 to those employees maintaining their project schedules or three-week look-ahead schedules for their specific projects.
  • Performs special projects and completes all other duties as assigned or requested for the general support of the organization.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor\u0027s degree in engineering, business, construction management, related field or related experience.
  • Construction field experience
  • Strong knowledge of construction sequencing.
  • Presentation skills required in meetings and in training.
  • Experience in reading blueprints.
  • Excellent written \u0026amp; verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Proficient computer skills. Must have experience with MS Office, Primavera P6/Microsoft Project.
  • 3-5 years related professional experience in scheduling / project controls work on direct hire construction projects at meets or exceeds performance expectations,preferred.
