US Wire Group is the parent of three independent companies (five manufacturing facilities) which produce steel wire and cable/wire related products that serve many industries. Products are marketed domestically through a direct sales force, manufacturer's representatives and an established network of independent distributors. The Corporate Recruiter will research, develop, and implement effective recruiting and staffing strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified and capable talent for the organization. This is a remote position, but will be based in the Chicago area. The Corporate Recruiter will report directly to the Senior Director of Human Resources.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage full cycle recruiting responsibilities such as maintaining job descriptions and FLSA classifications, delivering pre-hire skills testing, tracking key talent acquisition metrics to meet the various staffing goals across all levels within multiple business units.
  • Develop and execute creative recruitment and pipeline building strategies to attract solid talent and future “People Leaders”; primarily source candidates through internal ATS, company social media sites and other company sponsored tools.
  • Ensure salary market data is researched using benchmarked salary data, prior to posting all job openings.
  • Source, screen and submit qualified candidates to hiring managers for open requisitions.
  • Partner with HR Managers and organization leaders to assist with forecast in developing plans for key staffing initiatives.
  • Create and implement employment marketing strategies to attract passive job seekers.
  • Work with hiring leader and interview teams to ensure job requirements and role expectations are clearly understood and candidates are assessed against appropriate criteria.
  • Aggressively recruits high caliber of talent through traditional and non-traditional recruiting techniques (contacting passive candidates, partnering with search firms, cold calling, facility recruitment fairs, extensive networking, and other outreach events).
  •  Schedules interviews (phone & in-person); oversees preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials.
  •  Attends and participates in college and trade job fairs to enhance recruiting process.
  • Track and report key metrics designed to measure and predict staffing activity.
  • Leads behavioral based questioning and ensures leaders follow this best practice when interviewing candidates.
  • Collaborates with the hiring manager and/or other human resource staff during the offer process, identifying and recommending salary ranges, incentives, start dates, and other pertinent details.
  • Develop, schedule, and facilitate the new employee onboarding and pre-employment integration process using UKG HRIS.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business management, or a related field required.
  • 4+ years of full cycle recruiting experience, preferably in manufacturing, production, or a related industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to source, screen and recruit technical and functional candidates in manufacturing settings with varying skill sets and at all levels.
  • Demonstrated experience in candidate management through an applicant tracking system with strong attention to detail.
  • Recruiting experience with complex and time-sensitive search initiatives, requiring a disciplined approach to delivering qualified talent with urgency.
  • Above-average proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with, lead and guide employees/managers at all levels and build relationships quickly.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to consolidate data into concise, executive-ready presentations and reports in an orderly and organized manner.
  • Exceptional action and customer service orientation with the ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast paced, dynamic business environment.
  • Solid knowledge of employment law, regulations and statutes – compliance focused.
  • High level of confidentiality, professionalism, and decorum.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds at time
