Job Description

Incorporated in Texas in 1966, Bo-Mac originally focused on providing civil, pipeline and other construction services for the petroleum exploration industry. In 1974, pile driving capability was added and our primary market expanded to include construction related to the oil and gas refining industry and the petrochemical processing industry. Asphalt manufacturing and paving capabilities were added in 1985 with service primarily to the Texas Department of Transportation. Expansion continued in 1989 with the addition of marine piling and dock construction capabilities.

We are seeking qualified candidates that are focused on project success and exceeding customer expectations. Qualified candidates must be able to perform all duties listed below safely and follow all the company\u0027s safety procedures.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage deck operations and oversee crews during pile installation/extraction and during all construction modes of operation.
  • Serve as a working supervisor on deck with the crew when not performing other duties.
  • Controlallcraneliftingoperationsusinghand/radiosignals.
  • Controlordesignateallmooringoperationsofthebargeforend/beginningofshifts.
  • Ensurethereareadequate,qualifiedcrewstocarryoutsafeandefficientoperations
  • AstheBargeSuperintendent\u0027srepresentative,supervisetheoverallsafeinstallationoftheproject,asspecifiedbytheprojectInstallationProcedures
  • ResponsibleforrefusingunsafeworkandforcarryingoutallworkinaccordancewithestablishedSafetyStandardsandworkpractices
  • ResponsibleforfollowingtheinstructionsandfulfillingtheresponsibilitieswithintheEmergencyResponseproceduresandadvisingcrewsontheirresponsibilities
  • Responsibleforthemaintenanceandrepairofallpiledrivingequipment,crane,andbarge.Keepdiligentrecordsofmaintenanceandsafetyinspections.
  • Inconjunctionwithcraneoperator,inspectriggingfordeficiencies,identifyandreplace/repairasneeded.
  • Responsibleforthesafeloadingandunloadingofequipmentontransporttrucksensuringthatnoloadleavesoverweightoroverheight.
  • Buildjob‐specificwoodformsandassemblecommercially availableformsystems.Setandtiesteel,asrequired.Erectandwreckallforms.Pour,gradeandfinishconcrete.
  • Loadandunloadmaterials.Shoveldirt,gravelandasphaltandperformgeneralhousekeepingandcleanupofthejobsite.
  • Checkandmaintaingradestakesandothersurveymarkings.
  • Responsibleinprovidingqualityworkmanship,efficientproductivity,andsafeworkingenvironment.
  • Responsibleforconductingsafety\u0026ldquo;tool\u0026rdquo;boxmeetingsweeklyaswellasspecificincidentmeetingsasrequired.
  • Reportsdailyactivities,projectprogress,crewworkingtimesetc.toprojectmanager.
  • AttendsPreconstruction/weeklyconstructionmeetingsasrequired.
  • Providesinputastooingress/egressforequipmentonnewprojects.
  • Keepsanaccurateinventoryofalltools,repairsandreplacesasnecessary.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years or more of Pile Barge Superintendent related experience, with an emphasis in Marine Construction, Pile Driving, Pier Construction, and Marina Installation.
