Peninsula Light Metals The Heico Companies has an opportunity for a Sales Manager to oversee the sales strategy and its implementation to meet significant growth targets via expansion into new markets. Reporting to the President of PLM in Azusa, California, this position may be located anywhere in the United States working virtually from a home office. As part of a 2 billion, privately held, growing company, this person will be responsible for growing our casting business from an automotive only focus to expand into the white goods market. PLMs foundry is in Ensenada, Mexico and the position will require travel throughout the United States and to Ensenada on a regular basis to market, develop and sell new products into new markets.

Peninsula Light Metals is a quality-driven, low-cost supplier of high-performance semi-permanent mold aluminum machined castings. We are a quality certified, award-winning low cost manufacturer of aluminum castings specializing in products across a broad range of industries.

Major Tasks and Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for developing sales strategy and marketing approach

  • Participate as a member of the Plants Management Team in formulating its Business Strategies, Plans and Budgets and in monitoring sales performance to ensure that the sales goals are achieved. Act as an advisory to senior management on sales and marketing strategies and implementation.

  • Will be responsible for winning new business/accounts

  • Will work with Engineering on new products to expand into new markets

  • Must have strong track record of working independently with measurable results

  • Clearly identify market threats and competitor strength

  • Monitor competitor products and sales and marketing activities




  • Develop and maintain customer relationships at all levels of the customer organization with focus on key decision making individuals

  • Review market analyses to determine customer needs, volume potential, price schedules, and develop sales campaigns to accommodate goals of company.

  • Keep the organization fully informed of competitor activities in the region.

  • Coordinate as liaison between customer service department, technical service, engineering and other departments as appropriate to maximize superior sales and service performance.

  • Develop and implement an annual sales plan for the region, including sales strategy, to maximize return from the regions assigned accounts/geographic area and to meet the regions sales quotas

  • Prepare monthly progress reports, monthly itinerary (call reports) and weekly expense reports in a timely manner.

  • Perform other business-related duties as assigned


Job Requirements


  • A minimum of eight years related field sales experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Bachelors Degree in related field or commensurate experience

  • Foundry industry experience required

  • Personal computer skills essential

  • Must have or be able to obtain a US passport, a valid driver license and be willing and able to drive long distances and travel by plane
