Job Responsibilities  

  • Plan, prepare and analyze data to determine the costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory and labor
  • Ensure accuracy of product costs for inventory relief and management decisions through review of actual cost history and maintenance of standard costs.
  • Provide management with reports comparing factors affecting prices and product line profitability.
  • Prepare estimates of new and proposed product costs
  • Prepare monthly journal entries as needed for sales, cost of sales and inventory accounts.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, including standard cost maintenance and accounting related to cycle counting, physical inventories and obsolete and out-of-spec inventory.
  • Perform periodic cost rolls as needed.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
  • Provide accurate variances for inventory relief (labor, purchase and freight).
  • Analyze freight costs.
  • Analyze inventory reserves and prepare journal entries and reports to management as necessary.
  • Provide support for physical inventories and cycle counting programs. Coordinate with appropriate Company personnel to ensure proper controls are in place for inventory transactions.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly account reports for submission to management.
  • Maintain the fixed asset ledger and post depreciation.
  • Assist in capital project justification and post audits.
  • Assist Controller in ensuring all financial policies and procedures are followed and suggest policy changes to improve performance and/or controls.
  • Manage special projects; assist with developing annual budgets
  • Perform other duties as required.

Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Master’s Degree and/or CPA a plus
  • Minimum of 4-6 years’ experience in general manufacturing or cost accounting.
  • General familiarity with Heavy Equipment industry a plus.
  • Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft suite products.
  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • Strong organizational and customer service skills.
  • In-depth understanding of GAAP, Cost Accounting and general ledgers.
  • Demonstrated communication skills.
